8v8 Conquest League

The Xtreme Professional League (XPL) is proud to announce that the first season of the Battlefield Bad Company 2 (BFBC2) league is now open for registration. The XPL currently hosts numerous competitive events in other game titles including Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead, and League of Legends to name a few. Now XPL will be bringing the same professionalism and intense top level competition to BFBC2. We expect a large turnout for the first season of BFBC2 and as such, we have hired an experienced competition and anti-cheat staff to support the league.

The league will be Conquest format with teams of eight. Currently there are ~40 teams signed up in two conferences, Central and East. As signups continue, we may expand the conferences. Game settings will be vanilla with the standard Friendly Fire on, no Kill Cam, and Punkbuster enabled. We are currently debating on whether to allow 3D spotting. The season will be 8 to 10 weeks long with a 3 to 4 week pre-season. The playoff format is TBD. We are in the process of finalizing a rule set for the league and participants' input is welcome.

As with a lot of leagues that XPL offers, the BFBC2 league will have prizes. We can not as of yet release a list publicly, but they will be very sought-after items from our partners. We also want to announce that our BFBC2 tournament has not been cancelled, but has been placed on hold until the conclusion of the Season 1 league.

So tell your friends and enemies to get on over to our website (link above) and get signed up! Visit our forums for the most up-to-date information regarding all of the happenings at the XPL's BFBC2 division. We are open to opinions about the league and ruleset so feel free to post them. The input from our community is always welcome

Regards,
The Battlefield Series Management

MAKE-UP MATCHES/PLAYOFFS

Playoffs are almost here! We just need any team with 3 or more Forfeit-Wins to play make-up matches. The maximum allowed FW's is 2. If you have 3, you will need to make up one match (if you have 5 FW's, you need to play 3). We would like to launch playoffs on SUNDAY, APRIL 4th 2010. The playoffs match-ups are specified in brackets right now! After the make-up matches are posted, we will have the true numbers/standings and the official brackets will be posted publicly. We apologize for the hold-up, there were a lot of Forfeit-Wins issued, and make-up matches need to be played so every corresponding team can be formally and FULLY eligible for playoffs. A generalized variation of this post was also sent to everyone in a PM and an email.

XPL and Legit Proof!

<img src="http://www.xpleague.com/http://www.xpleague.com/images/designers/jochem/september/xpllisted.png

XPL Update:

We here at XPL have found yet another resource to imrpove the experience for our gaming community and league. We have partnered up with Legit-Proof, a gaming resource for competitive gamers. Legit-Proof was founded in January, of 2006, and has grown into a Unique I.D database for all games as well as a resource to catalog XPL, CEVO and VAC bans. If a player has competed in CEVO or XPL, their Unique I.D will be stored in the Legit-Proof database for the community to look for, if necessary. Legit-Proof is not only for Steam games either, if a game has a Unique I.D system, it can be found on Legit-Proof. In addition, Legit-Proof has a "Files" section that includes: maps, configurations, and GUI's for your own use. Legit-Proof has worked tirelessly to implement the XPL users into their database and we are glad that they have been so helpful during this transition.

Here is a message from XPL|BillH:

I would like to thank Joonas "dna" Vihavainen, of Legit-Proof, for his cooperation, and dedication to our partnership. We at XPL believe that the logging and searching functions that Legit-Proof has provided us with will help better the XPL community, as well as the gaming community. It's implementation and usage will help curve the use of banned Unique I.Ds from competition that will result in a better, more stable league for all players. So, I thank Joonas for working hard to get the ball rolling on this so quickly.

Yours truly,

The XPL Team

New Map for Pre-Season week 2!

Pre-Season has begun and we are expecting the release of a new custom map for the community. First off though, many of you have been having some issues with rosters and match scheduling. In response to this, here are some of rules that should help everyone understand the what's going on:

    * Default Match day is Friday. All matches MUST be completed by this day. No excuses.

* Matches will be posted 4(four) days in advanced of the default match day. For CS|Open this day will be Tuesday.

* Rosters are locked 5(five) days in advanced of the default match day. For CS|Open, this day will be Monday

* Rosters are unlocked the day after default match day. For CS|Open, this day will be Saturday.

* If you receive a BYE or a Forfeit win you MUST schedule and complete a make up match within 1(one) week of the default day. Once you have found another team that needs a make-up match, both team schedules MUST schedule the match via a support ticket. (You can use your Division's Standings
find other teams that need a make up match.)

*If there are any more questions on these or other rules, please feel free to contact us through #XPL-support or submit a support ticket on the website*

Something new to throw out there, our new custom map has been officially designated for Pre-Season week 2. The name of it is "de_deadbolt."
Season One

The XPL Season one of Counter-Strike: Source has finally arrived! We would like to give a special thanks to each one of the teams that have acquired their full rosters for the season launch. Although many teams have their rosters signed up, they are not ready to play because the lacking of a simple sign-up concept, or not having proper ACS id's. It should be known that if teams do not reach the minimum requirement of 5 players, with properly inputted ACS id's, they will be immediately removed from season 1 prior to the first week of game-play. Additionally, if your team is not able to make contact with the opposing team within 48 hours of the default match time, feel free to report the match as a forfeit win.

We do not wish to remove any teams from this season, but if it comes down to it, we will have no other choice. Other than that, we would like to thank everyone for your continued patience and consideration. Good luck and enjoy the first season!

Your truly,

Scrim League

The XPL staff is proud to announce the forthcoming release of our first scrim league for CoD 4. These scrims will be recorded via the XPL website, which will be a new type of league. This will bring more of an on-the-spot challenge to each team competing, and will be in PromodLiveNA. Each scrim will be played out as any other scrim found through the mIRC #cod4scrim channel, but in time each team member will gain xps points which can be used to purchase gaming gear through the XPL website. Each scrim is to be reported, and it is prohibited to challenge the same opponent more than 2 times per week. This is planned to commence as of Tuesday, September 15th, and registrations are open for all teams wishing to be involved to compete.

Essentially, here's what's going to happen. You go into mIRC, and ask for a scrim. Someone accepts, you ask if they have registered on XPL. If so, go to our site, record you're going to scrim, then post it up after. This keeps track of everyone's wins/losses, so if you're the best, it will show. Get signed up, get your friends signed up, prove to everyone how much game you can bring to the competition.

Be sure to stay tuned in to XPLeague.com for further information and updates!
Yours truly,
